Park activities

VITP is technology park located in Vilnius. Our aim is to help companies grow and build a professional community. Our main activities are rendering consulting services on innovation, finance, R&D to innovative companies and developing infrastructure for innovative companies and attracting private investment into such development. We help companies develop insights for initiating and creating new products or services, facilitate clustering of companies and creation of new value chains and provide favorable infrastructure for growth and networking of business.

History

1985

The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics and The Institute of Biochemistry and Ecology of Vilnius University start operating in Visoriai.

1988–1991

The scientists of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics open first IT startups in Visoriai: Baltic Amadeus, VTeX ir TEV. By 2000, the total number of employees reached 300+.

2002

The VITP is founded.

2007–2009

The VITP signs investment agreements with BOD Group, Biotechpharma, Viltechmeda, for their expansion in VITP territory. The status of an Economic Project of National Importance is granted to VITP development projects.

2009–2013

The VITP establishes a 6,8 ha infrastructure for private investments and a 7 300 m² building for IT and other hi-tech companies and start-up incubation. The BOD Group, Biotechpharma and Viltechmeda invest 35 million Eur to 30 000 m² infrastructure and 400 new workplaces.

2014–2018

50+ companies with 1000+ employees operate in VITP and its territory; 80% of their production is exported. The companies operates in such fields as science and educational publishing, biotechnologies, renewable energy, medical equipment, photonics, IT and space technologies. In 2015, the Toolas Cluster, specializing in Lithuanian laser micromachining, was established. In 2016, the Science Publishing Cluster (also known as the Science and Educational Publishing Technologies Cluster) was established.

2018–2019

The status of an Economic Project of National Importance is granted to the development of R&D infrastructure and to private investments in VITP. 23 mln. Eur investment to 17 000 m² R&D infrastructure and 700 new workplaces are planned until 2025.

2019

The VITP, ADOS-tech, Cognitio, NanoAvionika, Optogama and Optonas signs investment agreements for the construction of new research center. The 5 000 m² research center and 200 new workplaces are planned until 2021.

2020

The Innovation Workshop (Inovacijų dirbtuvės) has been launched. The program is operated by VITP.

2021

The Lithuanian Space Technology Cluster was established.

2022

The Toolas Cluster was awarded the Bronze Label. the VITP Research, Experimental Development, and Innovation Center was completed. VITP and the European Space Agency (ESA) signed an implementation and management contract for ESA BIC Lithuania.

2023

The VITP Research, Experimental Development, and Innovation Centre building was officially opened. ESA BIC Lithuania also had its official opening. The Toolas Cluster became a member of the Lithuanian Laser Association.

Laser Micromachining Cluster Toolas

The Toolas cluster (prev. VITEK) comprises companies that operate in the fields of laser and light technologies, IT, robotics, electronics and related sectors. The cluster community started its activities in 2015 based on scientific and territorial cooperation. The main goal of Toolas is to provide and develop cooperation favorable infrastructure, comfortable environment for pooling of cluster members' R&D activities and related competences for implementation of innovative projects, resulting in higher value added products and technologies. Cluster members: UAB ADOS-tech, UAB Aktyvus Photonics, UAB Akoneer, UAB Direct Machining Control, UAB Ekstremalė, UAB Femtika, UAB Informacinės konsultacijos, UAB Light Conversion, UAB Machine One, UAB Monospektra, UAB Optogama, UAB Optonas, UAB Protogama, Vilniaus universitetas, Workshop of Photonics. Associated members: Edmund Optics, Lumibird. Cluster coordinator: Visoriai Information Technology Park (VITP).

Science Publishing Cluster

The activities of the cluster are related to the initiation and implementation of innovative IT solutions and innovative science and educational publishing technologies based on the long-term practical experience of the cluster partners, knowledge, methodological and scientific experience and the latest achievements in Lithuania and abroad. The aim of the cluster is to create and promote the creation and marketing of services and products that would increase added value to the members and corporate clients of the cluster. Cluster members: Ex Datum, ImPro, Leidykla TEV, Visoriai Information Technology Park (VITP), VTeX, VTEX Investicijos and The Association of Lithuanian Serials.

Lithuanian Space Cluster

The Lithuanian Space Cluster (LSC) brings together Lithuanian companies operating in and developing the field of space technology. The LSC was established in 2021 at the Visoriai Information Technology Park by 4 companies – Kongsberg NanoAvionics, Geomatrix, Blackswan Space and Novian Pro. In 2023, Sensmetry became a part of the cluster. In 2024, Astrolight became a member of the cluster. The community's competences include the design and manufacture of small satellites, mission simulation and design, satellite data processing and analysis, and various software solutions. They provide their services to public institutions as well as to private clients in Lithuania and abroad. The mission of the cluster is to provide opportunities for the development of space technology businesses in Lithuania and abroad by combining the competences of its members, finding new customers and promoting the application of space technologies at regional and national levels. ESA BIC Lithuania

ESA BIC Lithuania support entrepreneurs with a space-based business idea and help them develop their product while getting their company off the ground.

Key Lithuanian Space companies located at Visoriai Information Technology Park (VITP) encourages to create and strengthen space community in Lithuania.

In 2021 VITP initiates the process of ESA BIC establishment. At the end of 2022 ESA and VITP signs implementation and management contract of ESA BIC Lithuania.

The implementation of ESA BIC Lithuania is led by VITP in cooperation with partners: Center for Physical Science and Technology, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuanian Innovation Center, Tech-Park Kaunas, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech), Vilnius Municipality, and Vilnius University.
